Arendal, Norway Volunteer trail association

More forest.
More flow.

We build and maintain mountain bike trails in the forests around Arendal. Great trails happen when people show up, lend a hand and ride what they have built.

What we do

Great trails are
built together.

01

Build

Shape new lines through the forest with care for the terrain, nature and everyone who rides here.

02

Maintain

Keep the trails open, enjoyable to ride and resilient through every season and all kinds of weather.

03

Community

Make room for riders, builders and curious newcomers finding their place outdoors.

Tungvekteren

Built stone
by stone.

Trail work in the forest began around 2010. In 2013, Tungvekteren opened as one of Norway's early purpose-built mountain biking projects.

Today, Tungvekteren is a network of around 20 kilometres of trails with different levels of difficulty. Beginners and experienced riders alike can find flow, challenges and great rides here.

The trails are built by volunteers. With shovels, picks, stone and plenty of patience, we keep developing an area that is open to everyone.

Our next big project

A place to meet
on wheels.

We want to build Agder's most exciting pump track by the Heia turning area in Dråbelia.

For everyoneBikes, balance bikes, scooters and skateboards.
30 yearsAn agreement with Arendal municipality to use the site.
TogetherA place for play, skills, activity and events.

A pump track is a closed circuit with rollers, jumps and banked turns. You move around it by pumping with your body instead of pedalling.

But the project is about more than the track itself. We want a social area, good lighting and a gathering place that makes it easy to get outside, meet people and stay a little longer.
